Sleep and Disease

Scientific studies show that the correlation between sleep and the ability to function properly are linked. Even a single poor night’s sleep can cause serious mood swings, fatigue, irritability and inability to perform or function at work. While these symptoms of poor sleep are obvious, what is less obvious is the long term effects that sleep bring about on your overall health.

Losing sleep on a regular basis has been proven to increase chances of long-term health consequences, including chronic medical conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. On the other hand, scientific studies have shown that sleeping too much (9+ hours a night) can also lead to medical conditions.
