Mayim Bialik is unique in Hollywood. She’s an established actress, has developed a cult following for her portrayal of Blossom Russo in the early ‘90s sitcom “Blossom” and most recently Amy Farrah Fowler on the hit show “The Big Bang Theory”, which finishes its 12th and final season in May 2019.
Bialik is also a single mom of two who happens to hold a Ph.D. in neuroscience. It’s understandable that sleep would be a serious need for her. But that wasn’t happening, especially over the holidays…
“...my cats have started a dominance war that involves urine and feces. Long story short my bed is not able to be slept in and I’m sleeping on my couch.”
Nectar Sleep, an industry-leading memory foam mattress, teamed up with Mayim Bialik to spread the word about good sleep in the recent campaign “Real, Sleep Science from Mayim Bialik”.
It hit home because this isn’t the first time Bialik has wrestled with a sleepless night.
“I remember when I was sleep deprived when I was a new mom,” Bialik said in a recent US Weekly interview. “You feel completely out of it. I realized that even though I don’t have kids who are tiny and lead to you being sleep-deprived, it looks exactly the same. I’ve taken to napping in the day because I get really grumpy.”
For Bialik, a Nectar mattress was the natural choice to help her feel more like the high-functioning human she knows she can be.
“We wanted a partner who really understood our message that better sleep is important. Mayim isn’t JUST an actress, she also happens to be a real-life, brilliant neuroscientist – which makes her the perfect person to explain why getting a Nectar is the smart choice for people who want better sleep,” said Gil Efrati, CMO of Nectar Sleep.
